Hi Kathryn,

I have successfully used srsENB and srsUE with the openair-cn, but I
never tried connecting a COTS-UE in such a setup.
It *should* be OK, but I have not tested it.

To do what you want, I would start by successfully installing and
configuring the EPC. You can follow this guide from OAI to get you
started:
https://gitlab.eurecom.fr/oai/openair-cn/blob/master/DOCS/EPC_User_Guide.pdf

The way I configured the OAI-CN was with every node (HSS, MME and
SPGW) in a different virtual machine.
I am afraid I have no experience in configuring it all in a single machine.

I would actually advise you to use VMs for setting up openair-cn. It
allows you to emulate multiple machines and to backup disk images of
intermediate steps with relative ease.
Virsh/virt-manager are quite easy to use.

But the first step in setting up OAI-CN is to have a 14.04 ubuntu
instalation with a recent kernel that has the gtp kernel module
installed (in a VM or a real machine).

Regards,
Pedro
