Hi Antonio, all,
I have been working with measuring the delay between the base station (BS)
and User Equitpment (UE) with srsLTE. The delay measured by the rach has a
resolution of 0.92 microseconds. This is because the bandwidth of the prach
signal which has 1.08MHz --> a resolution of 0.92 us (1/1.08MHz). LTE
defines the parameter timing advance (TA) to compensate the distance
between the UE and the BS, the resolution of this parameter is 16*Ts, I
cannot remember now the exact value, it was something like 78m.
So, I do not until what point srsLTE has implemented the TA. My piece of
advice is to use other signal like the positioning reference signal or the
sounding reference signal.
Best,
Alejandro
