Hi everyone,
we're happy to announce the birth of the new srsLTE 18.03 release today.
Even though it may seem to be a Easter surprise, there is no hiding
or hunting. It's on Github, as always.
With this release we've concentrated a lot on stability and
interoperability with commercial LTE equipment. As a result, you should
see an improved overall experience and performance.During the
preparation of this release, we advanced our in-house
continuous-integration RF testing framework a lot. The framework is
based on Jenkins and Docker and runs tests of all srsLTE applications
with real RF hardware in a controlled environment. For example, we are
now running periodic 12h/24h long-term tests with srsUE in which the UE
does full-rate down- and uplink traffic while doing handovers back and
forth between two eNB's roughly every ~10s. Understandably, such a long
test cannot be run for every commit. However, we have also put shorter
tests in place that are executed for every push that is done to our main
developing repository testing the entire srsLTE end-to-end open-source
LTE network.
Enjoy the new release and Happy Easter
The srsLTE team
