[srslte-users] srsLTE with LimeSDR/LimeSDR-Mini : Making mobile phone latch to srsLTE (srsenb + srsepc) with limeSDR/limeSDR-mini

When you look at the default settings of the srs package then you see that
it is almost readily preconfigured for usage with a SDR like LimeSDR. So no
big deal, quite easy to set up.

And all the modulation stuff is done inside the srs package, no need to do
anything special on the LimeSDR.

With best regards

Ralph.

Subject: [srslte-users] srsLTE with LimeSDR/LimeSDR-Mini : Making mobile
phone latch to srsLTE (srsenb + srsepc) with limeSDR/limeSDR-mini

Hello,

1.	Thanks to the useful & detailed info from @X
<mailto:xavier at softwareradiosystems.com> avier and @Vasil and excellent
build configuration & code from SRS, I was able to run srsue, srsenb &
srsepc with zmq (No H/W).
2.	The UE was able to attach to the network with both soft sim as well
as hard sim (using Milenage & omnikey smard card reader driver).
3.	Now, I want to run "srsenb + srsepc" with LimeSDR/LimeSDR-mini and
an actual mobile phone.
4.	I have limeSuite & SoapySDRUtil installed on my Linux machine.
5.	By just changing "device = zmq" to "device = soapy" + changing a few
other RF related parameters in enb.conf & epc.conf + connecting the
limeSDR/limeSDR-mini H/W, will a mobile phone (with USIM programmed to latch
to srs Base station by virtue of correct keys/IMSI etc.) now latch to the
srsLTE base station ? The point in asking this is that ; is this all that
needs to be done or are there some more changes/programming to be done
@limeSDR side ?
6.	Is all the modulation (OFDM/ QAM for LTE) done in srsLTE ? or is
some part needed to be done in limeSDR FPGA (by changing the gateware) ?

Tushar
