Dear SDR hackers,

We're pleased to announce the first srsLTE release in 2020, srsLTE 20.04.

First and foremost, this new release finally adds Carrier Aggregation
support to srsENB. For this some major refactoring has been carried out
under the hood that will also prepare for mobility support expected in
the next release.

srsUE and srsENB have been completely relieved from their dependency on
system timers. This allows users to simulate and study complete
end-to-end LTE networks on a single computer without using RF equipment
at all. Please have a look at the ZMQ and Carrier Aggregation app note
[1] for more details.

Besides general PHY layer performance enhancements and new signal
measurement capabilities, we've also completed the LTE Sidelink
implementation, the underlying PHY layer for the upcoming C-V2X technology.

This release also integrates the full NB-IoT downlink processing and
corresponding example applications.

We've also integrated a new S1AP packing and unpacking library that is
used in both srsENB and srsEPC.

And, as always, we've fixed quite some bugs and worked on stability and
performance on all parts of the software suite.

Some of the above mentioned features will accompanied with dedicated
application notes over the coming days. If you're interested in a
write-up on a particular feature, please reach out to us.

Happy hacking and enjoy the release.

The srsLTE team
