[srslte-users] Is it OK to have network switch between USRP and host computer ?

Hi,

I have a USRP X310 which is connected through 1Gbps ethernet cable to LAN
in our lab. srsue is running on a 32 core server that is also on the LAN.
There is a switch and a router between the server, which is the host
running srsue (or srsenb) and the USRP. The ICMP ping delays from the
server to the USRP are of the order of 3 ms round-trip (so 1.5 ms one way
delay).

However when I run the command
sudo /opt/uhd/uhd/host/build/examples/latency_test --rtt 0.0003 --rate 10e6
--args="addr=193.10.64.56,type=x300,master_clock_rate=184.32e6"

I do not get any lates L until I reduce the rtt values below 0.0003 (300
micro s), indicating that the server to USRP connection's latency is much
lower than indicated by ping. I also do not get any lates or overflows or
underflows when I run srsue or srsenb.

So basically my question is, if when I run srslte I do not get any lates
then is it OK to run it over a network switch and/or router ? Is it
possible for the setup to work but give wrong measurements due to this
setup even when I do not see lates?
