[srsran-users] What backgrounds do you all have?

Hey All!

I'm trying to use a bladeRF x40 to set up a local test 4G network. The goal
is to be able to connect mobile phones to it to access the internet, and
make phone calls, etc.

I'm from a mechatronics engineering background, so I dont have too much
experience with the telecommunications stuff. I've managed to connect some
phones to my srsRAN set up here and there, but I've never been able to make
phone calls/send sms messages between connected phones.

Overall, I'm just looking for pointers as to where I can start learning a
bit more about this topic. At the moment, I'm just blindly following
tutorials and not really understanding what's going on. I've done a few
courses on 4G networks, so I have a basic 101 understanding of those. I'd
love to know what everyone's background is, and particularly what
knowledge/skills are necessary to become proficient with srsRAN?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
