[srsran-users] Custom encoding with SRSRan

Hi Everyone,

I have am working on a custom PHY-layer OFDM-based encoding, and would like to understand whether srsRAN would be an appropriate tool for exploring its capabilities. 

Basically, I want to set up a pair of SDRs using an unmodified software/firmware stack, and once that is working, introduce my changes.

Questions:

1) My current computer is a 2020 MacBook Pro (2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7, 32GB RAM) running macOS 13.01, but it looks like srsRAN is Linux-based.   Would installing (dual-boot) Linux onto the MacBookPro work, or do I need to move to a different development computer?   Alternatively, is its reasonable to use a Raspberry Pi 4B 4GB (I have access to three)?
2) I have accesss to two Pluto SDRs and two Nuand BladeRF 2.0 xA9 devices.   Which would be better for this purpose?
3) Any other suggestions on how to get started?
