[srsran-users] install from source on Kali

Hey Brendan,

I was able to get the software installed but I am not seeing the network from my UE. I noticed the following messages after eNodeB started.

When I looked on my usrpb205mini I noticed that the TX light was not on. Do you know if this message and the UE not seeing the network are related?

I have a sysmocom SIM card that I programmed and inserted into my UE, which is an unlocked samsung galaxy s4. I added the SIM card details to user_db.csv. I also don't see any other errors in either srsenb and srsepc terminal outputs.

Hi Rob,

If you take a look at the cmake output, you will see the following:

-- srsUE and srsENB/srsGNB builds disabled due to missing RF driver

To ensure that srsUE and srsENB are built correctly you need to have an RF driver installed on your machine - this needs to be done before installing srsRAN. You can find a list of supported RF drivers here<https://docs.srsran.com/projects/4g/en/latest/general/source/1_installation.html#installation-from-source> in the documentation. Install one of these, double check you have all of the relevant dependencies, and try to build everything again.

If the issue persists, let me know.

However, I only see srsepc. It looks like srsenb wasn’t installed. Is this expected?
