The CU/DU split is within the gNB. It has nothing to do with (g/e)NB vs.
core

Yes exactly. srsEPC has always been a testing solution for us to have an
end-to-end system, never a commercial product.

Not sure I understand your question. But we have all deployments with
third-party EPCs and us doing the RAN. So yes, this has been tested
"over the air".

Yes, both. There is plenty of reading for all 3gpp things and for srsRAN
